LSWBL Picture of the Day

2008 - Ryan Pinkston

Ryan Pinkston (formerly of the 2006 Runners up, the Ball Smackers) plays guitar in his band The Republic Tigers. Ryan a very feared hitter in the LSWBL during his time with the Ball Smackers now spends his time writing, playing, and performing music with his band. They have been featured on Gossip Girls and have an upcoming tour with Nada Surf. Upcoming concerts include the Crosstown Station in KC, a few shows in California, and then an appearance in New Yorkon David Letterman on May 22nd. Check out songs and tour schedule on their myspace!

World Wide Wiffle Anyone?

The LSWBL was recently contacted by Wicked Cow Entertainment regarding our beloved sport of wiffle ball. Wicked Cow is teaming up with Wiffle in an effort to expand the game we love. Wicked Cow Entertainment represents certain standout celebrities like Kobiyasha and Jenna Jameson and is looking to release a new line of wiffle ball equipment and paraphernalia within the next year. So they contacted us, the LSWBL with ideas and projects that are being thrown around; and LSWBL was picked to be sort of a test market. Our co-commissioner Mark Spiegel had a conference call this past Tuesday and Mark was quoted as saying, "It went better than expected. This company is looking to do some big things and LSWBL hopes to be alongside for the ride. Its cool that our league has some notoriety on the national stage." More information will be provided as it develops.

Mark on his conference call with Wicked Cow. Way to dress up Mark, nice!

An editorial has been written by one of the League's Founding Fathers, Shaun York. He presents an outsiders view point on the league in a location uneducated about the league. It is a good read on how the league impacts other places and people besides those who participate in it. You can read Shaun's editorial here.
